Ngamba Island located amidst the waters of gigantic Victoria Lake is known for its counts of orphanage chimpanzees that total to 48 over a geographical spread of 100 acres. The Ngamba Island offers both day and overnight visitors an opportunity to explore it in detail. The 2 Day tour to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary involves departing your place of stay in Kampala after breakfast driving to Entebbe to catch up with the morning boat to Ngamba Island and then a return boat cruise to the main land. The Island has 48 counts of orphanages Chimps and 2 days are enough to explore them in detail.

Day 1:Transfer to Ngamba Island, view chimpanzees feeding & have a sun set boat cruise on Lake Victoria
After breakfast from your place of stay, embark on the transfer to the shores of Lake Victoria in Entebbe to catch up with the boat to transfer to Ngamba Island. The cruise is rewarding in its self as you navigate the waters of the gigantic victoria lake which is the largest tropical lake in the world with the views of small islands and other water features en route to the Ngamba. You will catch up with two chimpanzee feeding experiences at 11:00AM and 2:30pm respectively. You have an introductory session from the Island staff about the whole project its background, the present and the future. The water front has impressive sand that provides good ground for impressive sports like volley ball, soccer and net ball. The swinging, kayaking or reading the vast information pieces on the walls of the island buildings are there to occupy you in the whole afternoon before retiring for diner and overnight.

Day 2: Participate in either nature walk or care giving and then return to Kampala
This day you have a range of activities to do. You can opt to do care giving where you will participate in the caring of chimps along with the care giving staff. Here, you will have immense opportunity to have an experience of what people go through to ensure that the orphanaged chimpanzees continue to thrive on the Island. You participate in food preparation and feeding the chimps and also see them feeding, assist staff in medical checkups, preparing the holding areas for chimps, research and monitoring among other activities. However, this activity requires you to have gone through the required vaccination and health checks. Alternatively, you can undertake a nature walk in the forest and track the chimpanzees as the y feed naturally in the natural habitat, make pant hooting calls and socialize. With this activity, you have an opportunity to also encounter impressive flora and birds. After any of your chosen activities, you will embark on the transfer to main land in the afternoon to mark the end of your 2 Days tour to Ngamba Island.
