Mount Elgon is located in the East of Uganda and it is at one time the tallest mountain in Africa before it was reduced to its current eighth position in and the fourth in East Africa by the forces of denudation. Mount Elgon has the largest mountain caldera the whole world covering 42km2 and the largest volcanic base in the whole world covering 4,000km2. The Mountain is surrounded by the Bamasaba tribal community who refer to it as Mount Masaba and is known to them as the origin of their ancestral father Masaba. The Elgon Mountain towers to 4321m above sea level. The 3 Days tour gives you an opportunity to hike thus extinct volcano and also encounter to local community.

After breakfast from your place of stay, you will be transfer in the company of your guide to the East of Uganda. You will drive through the soothing fresh air of Mabira Forest, the bustling town of Jinja located on the banks of River Nile, the plantation sceneries of rice and sugar cane fields in the district of Iganga and the lush swamps along the route before arriving in Mbale for lunch. In the afternoon, you will embark on the community tour of the surrounding Bagisu people exploring the extensive coffee plantations, listening to their stories about the Imbalu festival among other traditions before retiring for overnight. Day 2:Do whole day Mountain hiking
After breakfast, embark on the hike of Mount Elgon. You gather at the park headquarters where they will allocate you the respective ranger and you can also get a porter from there if so wish. The hike to the mountain is very rewarding as it offers you impressive scenic views of the mountain and the adjacent areas, the lush mountain flora and remarkable fauna including hyrax, bushbuck, and wild cats among others. You can undertake the 7km Mountain bamboo trail to Kapkwai cave passing through bamboo and tropical forest or the 5km walk to chebonet falls. A range of other trails are available to enable you explore the mountain in short period as possible. Retire in the evening for relaxation and overnight. Day 3:Transfer back to Kampala. Do a boat cruise to the source of the Nile in Jinja en route.
After breakfast, embark on the transfer back to Kampala passing through impressive landscapes en route before approaching Jinja for a town drive and lunch. In the afternoon, you do a recreational boat cruise to the source of the mystical River Nile which is the longest River in the world to see the point where it begins its 90 days journey to the Mediterranean Sea supporting great counts of bio-diversity en route.
